This little cat amigurumi pattern will be the first of many! I’m making lots of these little animals and hoping to upload one (maybe two) each week. The great thing about this pattern is you can use any DK yarn of your choice (I used James C Brett Top Value DK – 8430 and 8428) which means you can make one of these to look like your own cat. I’ve already made ones to match our cats which you can see on my Ravelry projects page.

As you can see from the picture I’ve used some of the leftover white yarn to make whiskers, you might find using a finer yarn would work better (unfortunately the only 4-ply yarn I had to hand was bright blue). I’ve also used The Craft Factory Toy Eyes Solid Black – 9mm for the eyes of the cat, if you don’t want to buy these you can always use some yarn to sew on some eyes.

Get started on your crochet cat now, there’s going to be a lot more of these little animals coming over the next few weeks!

Use a yarn needle to sew all the parts together. I would recommend starting by adding the cheeks and nose to the face followed by the ears. Then sew the legs, head and tail onto the body (the picture below may help show you where the pieces should go). Finally, add the eyes and use white yarn to make the whiskers.

All done? Don’t forget to add the pattern to the Ravelry projects page!
