If you would like an ad-free, printable version of this pattern you can buy the PDF in our Shop or on Ravelry

The two previous ear saver patterns I published (flowery ear saver and owl ear saver) proved to be very popular so I’ve got another one to share with you. This one is a cat and is just as easy to make as the other two, it only requires use of the single crochet stitch and treble crochet stitch. You can now buy all four of my ear saver patterns together as an ebook in my Ravelry store for a reduced price. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletter at the bottom of the page for a 10% off discount code.

These ear savers are great as they prevent the soreness caused by wearing surgical face masks for prolonged periods of time. You place the ear saver at the back of the head and the loops of the mask hook around the two buttons instead of round your ears.

Just like the other two patterns this one is a great way to use up some leftover yarn as you only need a really small amount. You’ll need three colours – one for the main part of the cats face, one for the eyes and lastly one for the ears and nose. I’ve used DK weight yarn and a 4mm hook but it can easily work with other weights and the appropriate hook size, this will however change the size of the finished product. You’ll need two buttons, the ones I’ve use are roughly half an inch in diameter but, you can use any buttons you may have available to you.
