This free cat sleep mask pattern is one of five that I have designed, you can see them all by clicking here. It’s a really simple design which will be quick to make. It also only requires a small amount of yarn so its a great project to use up some left overs.

You’ll need four different colours of DK weight yarn – black, white, pink and a colour of your choice for the fur. The ties are made by using three strands of yarn and braiding them together. However, you may use a piece of elastic to create a strap instead.

Finishing

Sew the eyes onto each end of the face then use a yarn needle and black yarn to stitch on the eyelids. Attach the nose between the eyes and the ears above them. Then, weave in the ends. For the ties I have braided together 3 strands of yarn and secured a braid to each side of the eye mask. Alternatively you could use some elastic or crochet some ribbing. You may also want to back the mask with some fabric to aid in blocking out the light.
