I’ve been wanting to write a crochet pattern for an elephant for a very long time, I finally sat to start making one a few weeks ago only to realise I had no grey yarn! So I put in a big yarn order at lovecrafts (including some for a new blanket pattern I’m really excited about!) Once it arrived I got straight to work and now I can finally share this amigurumi elephant pattern with you.

This is a very easy crochet pattern and you’ll only require about 70 yards of grey yarn in dk weight – I used Stylecraft special DK (Graphite) but you can use any brand you like. Once complete this little elephant will only be about 4 inches tall so it’s also a fairly quick project. As with all of my amigurumi patterns I’ve used The Craft Factory Toy Eyes Solid Black – 9mm, you can of course use any toy eyes or black yarn to embroider some eyes on.

Materials

Grey yarn: Stylecraft special DK – Graphite 1063

Eyes: The Craft Factory Toy Eyes Solid Black – 9mm (you may use yarn to sew on eyes if you prefer)

Assembly

For photo tutorials on how to assemble your amigurumi elephant, check out the full pattern HERE.

Use a yarn needle to sew all the parts together. Start by attaching the legs to the 6th round of the body and attaching the tail you braided to the back of the elephant. Then sew the ears onto the head. Finally, sew the head onto the body.
