Here is the first of two amigurumi Halloween patterns I’m going to be sharing with you – it’s a Frankenstein crochet pattern! If you haven’t seen my other Halloween crochet patterns, be sure to check them out:

The first of the two Halloween amigurumi characters I’ve written patterns for is Frankenstein’s monster! This pattern was a lot of fun to design – it’s the first non-animal I’ve made a pattern for. The second character is a vampire amigurumi which will be released next week. They’re both made in the same way but have a few different details. The Frankenstein amigurumi is the slightly easier pattern which is why I’ve released it first.

To make this Frankenstein amigurumi, you’re going to need DK weight yarn in four colours – green, black, grey and teal. The teal yarn is only used for the t-shirt, so if you want to change the colour of that you can. You’ll also need a 3mm hook, stuffing and The Craft Factory Toy Eyes – 6mm or you can stitch some eyes on if you prefer.

Materials

Green Yarn: Stylecraft Special DK – Green 1116

Teal Yarn: Stylecraft Special DK – Teal 1062

Assembly

Begin by sewing the hair directly on top of the head. Then, attach the head to the top of the body and the arms on either side of the body

Finally, you need to add the face details. You’ll need black yarn for the mouth and forehead stitch, the mouth is made with one long stitch. On the forehead, you need to make a long stitch then add smaller vertical stitches over the top. Add the eyes or stitch some on if you’re not using plastic eyes. Finally, sew the bolts onto either side of the head and weave in any ends.
