I’m so excited to share with you my latest free amigurumi crochet pattern – Mini Pig! After spending a few months working on some new blanket patterns – like the Ocean Waves Blanket pictured below – I was itching to get back into amigurumi. I wanted to create a fun little pattern that would be quick to make and beginner-friendly. This little piggy stands at around 3″ tall when made with DK weight yarn (I used Stylecraft Special DK – Blush) but you can easily make it even smaller or bigger by changing your yarn weight!

As this is such a small crochet project I’ve decided to offer it completely free here on the blog but as always there is a paid version in the form of an ad-free, downloadable PDF. The paid version also includes some really useful photo tutorials for the pattern’s assembly section, which are not included in this free version. You can find the full version of the pattern here – Mini Pig Crochet Pattern.

My pattern testers had a lot of fun making their Min Pigs – check out Lucy’s (@lulibobs_handcrafted) little piggy below. If you’re interested in becoming a pattern tester for Willow Crochet, check out the brand new sign-up form – Pattern Tester Application. You don’t need any previous experience testing patterns and you don’t have to be an expert crocheter – beginners are welcome too! As a pattern tester, you’ll be sent a free version of new patterns before release to test them out and provide me with some feedback. Soon I will need some testers for a Halloween pumpkin, if this sounds like something you’d be interested in sign-up now or drop me an email if you have any further questions about the pattern testing process (info@willowcrochet.com).

Assembly

The paid version of this pattern includes useful photo tutorials for assembling your mini pig! Find it here – Mini Pig Crochet Pattern

Begin by sewing the ears to the top of the head using your stitch markers on round 11 as a guide as shown in photos 1 and 2.

Next, attach the front legs to rounds 7 and 8 making sure they are in line with the eyes as shown in photo 3. Then attach the back legs to rounds 13 and 14 making sure they are in line with the front legs.

Now, attach the tail to the middle of the back where you sewed the hole shut. Then weave in any ends.

Finally, use the black embroidery thread to stitch on the nostrils.
